Mix it Up

It may be blustery out today, but Christopher’s, the Covent Garden American bar & grill is looking forward to warmer weather with the return of their classic cocktail and drinks series, set to take place on balmy Saturdays throughout the summer.

Fancy learning a little more about those magical mixtures that lubricate every questionable but ultimately fantastic idea you’ve ever had on a night out? Well this class will allow guests to learn about the history of the martini and other classic cocktails; where and how they were developed, as well as recipe techniques and the art of preparing them, all taught by a mix master general/cocktail expert.

Get ready to shake it like a Polaroid picture and learn the four basic cocktails such as Dry Gin Martini, Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri and Mojito. The session closes with guests being invited to pick n’ mix their own poison or to create Christopher’s own signatures such as Nutella Martini or Apple Pie Martini.

Taking place on 3rd May, 7th June and 2nd August from 12:30-14:00, the sessions are priced at £35 per person (max no of guests: 10)

Arabica Nights

Trading in a bustling Borough Market stall for bricks and mortar, Arabica Food & Spice Company are set to launch an 80 cover bar & restaurant in June. Serving Levantine inspired food, the menu is a little bit mezze, a little bit rare-breed meat and fish and whole lot of charcoal. Cocktails will be curated by Geoff Robinson (who has previously mixed up a storm at the Experimental Cocktail Club) and the wine list is being handled by Zeren Wilson. Determined not to lose touch with their market roots, Arabica Bar and Kitchen will also continue serving falafel & Label Anglais chicken shawarma wraps outside on market days.

Kurobuta comes to Kendal Street

What was once a pop-up on The Kings Road site is now a permenant site and with a new restaurant opening on Kendal Street, Kurobuta is expanding its rockin’ n’ rollin’ Izakaya across London. Opening on 23rd April with Scott Hallsworth (formerly of Nobu) at the helm, expect a casually cool atmosphere soaked with sake and side of sushi.
