Clearspring Organic brand introduces a new Hojicha powder made from roasted green tea leaves.
Clearspring’s Organic Japanese Hojicha Powder is crafted from gently roasted green tea leaves. The organically farmed tea leaves are harvested and roasted in Japan before being ground into a fine powder.
Hojicha is a soothing alternative to coffee – great for sipping after a meal or enjoying in the afternoon and evening to help unwind.
It’s a bit like matcha now slowly taking over the world. But I’ve noticed with my friends who don’t enjoy matcha as much prefer hojicha for its milder mellow coffee like flavour but lower caffeine levels.
It’s great as an iced latter style drink or warm with lemon like a traditional tea. The powder is a new addition to the brand’s existing Hojicha loose leaf and teabags offering.
When combined with warm milk, Hojicha’s nutty aroma and gentle smoky flavour is transformed into a creamy and comforting beverage, with toasty and earthy notes of caramel and cocoa, giving it a slightly sweeter flavour profile.
It can also be baked into aromatic biscuits and cakes, blended into ice cream and smoothies. Clearspring Hojicha powder is available in stores across the UK (RRP £8.99).
