Sacla’, the famous ‘pesto pioneers’ have added Sacla’ Horseradish Sauce and Sacla’ Tartare Sauce to their line-up of vegan sauces, pesto, and dressings.

It’s easy to forget when going vegan or catering for vegas that more things than might guess contain elements a vegan can’t eat.

Ordinary Horseradish Sauce contains dairy in the form of cream – and Tartare Sauce contains eggs.

As both sauces are so delicious it seems a shame not everyone can eat them, but now they can.

The Sacla’ Horseradish Sauce will add tang to beetroot salad, roasted root vegetables, braised red cabbage, plant-based burgers, bean stews and, of course, a vegan pot roast.  It also makes for a good daring dip to welcome parsnip fries, but but beware, it’s fiery.

Sacla’ Vegan Tartare Sauce is made with capers, gherkins, leeks, wine vinegar and mustard. Stir it through mashed sweet potatoes and slap it on courgette fritters, beer-battered mushrooms, or use as a wonderful dip for chunky potato fries, root vegetable patties and crudités.

Sacla’ Vegan Horseradish Sauce, RRP £2.50 for 180g. Available online at sacla.co.uk and Sainsbury’s ‘Free From’ shelves from April and Asda from July.
