You can be certain that a silverware company in business for three -hundred years more than likely knows what they are doing. To celebrate this milestone, Sheffield manufacturer Osborne Tableware has created Magdalena, a 21st-century, contemporary design to hand down to generations. Also in celebration of their long-standing success, they are introducing a limited-edition range of cutlery. Can you guess the number of sets available? A clever three hundred. What fun!

The Magdelana pattern merges the lines of today’s modernistic designs with art deco influences from the 1930’s, creating a timeless look. Osborne’s latest style is offered in a choice of affordable silver plate or hallmarked 925 sterling silver. A typical forty-four-piece Magdelana set in EPNS (electro-plated nickel silver) retails at around £1199. The price includes a custom-made cutlery cabinet and a forty-year guarantee.

Over the centuries, Osborne has created more than two-hundred cutlery designs, some dating back to the classic “parish patterns” that originated in Sheffield more than four-hundred years ago. Combining the heritage and finish of Sheffield-made cutlery, Magdelana is available in a range of canteen sets from forty-four pieces, with six seven-piece place settings and two serving spoons, to one hundred and fifty-eight pieces, catering for twelve people with accessories and serving pieces. There is also a choice of five different knife blades, and canteens in several different wood finishes.

The new pattern is available now from Harrods or direct from the factory by calling 0114 284 1150. Osborne Tableware, Imperial Works, Sheffield Road, Sheffield S9 2YL, Visit online at www.osbornetableware.com.
