To build muscle you must focus your training on stimulating the growth of your fast- twitch muscle fibres. This means training for strength, not endurance . Train with heavy weights and low reps rather than light weights and high reps. As you train, your muscles tear and rebuild themselves becoming stronger and bigger.

Meal Tips:
1. Up your protein intake as this helps muscles repair and grow. Base all meals around lean protein; fish, chicken, eggs or tofu.
2. Eat more. Extra muscle will require extra energy. Go for about 300-500 extra calories a day.
3. Add protein powder to your Tossed smoothie after your workout. This is more easily broken down and absorbed by the body.
4. A good muscle-building diet should be composed of 30-50% protein, 20-50% carbohydrates and 20-40% fat (the majority of which should be essential fatty acids).
