mcith_rita1.jpgThe bodega, which has received critical acclaim for its rotation of New York inspired sandwiches will welcome a selection of London’s most exciting culinary talent over the upcoming months – including Brat’s Tomas Parry and Anais van Manen from Taiwanese favourite, BAO.

Chris Leach, previously of Sager + Wilde and Petersham Nurseries, will kick off the series on Friday 19th April with hisFried Ciccioli and Smoked Apple Ketchup Sandwich.

Loaded with crispy pasta scraps and fennel mayo, served on Dusty Knuckle focaccia, the limited-edition sandwich will be available at the bodega from midday on Friday and can be purchased individually or as part of a Meal Deal combo.

Starting from £15, the sandwich can be matched with a selection of drinks and snack combos from the bodega, including Chris’s recommended pairing – lager and crisps. The sandwich will be available to enjoy at the bodega throughout the weekend while stocks last.

On Friday 26th May, Missy and Gabriel will welcome Nud Dudhia, Head Chef and Co-founder of the Clerkenwell and Soho taquerias, Breddos Tacos.

Nud will be cooking up a Char Siu Pork Belly Torta, featuring char siu pork belly porchetta, carrot-daikon pickle, chicharron, crispy onions, misXO-bagna cauda, bird’s eye chillies and an apricot sambal with confit tomatoes.

The torta’s recommended Meal Deal combo is Dan Dan Nachos – corn chips with Dan Dan sauce, cheese, Sichuan oil and spring onion and ginger and an ice cold glass of Riesling.

On the Friday evening, the deli will open its doors so diners can soak up the sun while listening to music from next door neighbour, Honest Jon’s Record Store.

Edgar Wallace, ex Koya chef, will launch his sandwich on Friday 3rd May – a Ham, Brie and Pickled Pepper Jelly sandwich on Rosemary Foccacia.

Edgar’s inspiration for the sandwich came from his old part time job in a deli turned catering company, aged fourteen, in Perth, Ontario.

The deli’s claim to fame was founder Judy’s focaccia buns – something Edgar often eats now and thinks about the course it set him on. Edgar recommends pairing his sandwich with a Vietnamese coffee and spiced powder crisps – the Meal Deal options will start from £15.
