The Duke of Greenwich Introduces New Summer Menu and Margarita Pop-Up for May Day Bank Holiday Weekend

As the first May Day Bank Holiday weekend approaches, The Duke of Greenwich is gearing up to unveil its summer menu, fusion of flavours from the Mediterranean to the Middle East.

Located in the heart of Greenwich, this local gem under Executive Chef and Co-Owner, Daniel Blucert will, from Friday through Sunday of the holiday weekend (3rd – 5th May), host a special pop-up event by Too Easy Beverages (www.tooeasybeverages.com), offering small-batch Margaritas in the sunshine to complement the new menu.

In addition to dining and drinking, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant local art scene, with the pub displaying the remarkable artwork of Greenwich-based portrait artist, Eve Hartney.

Since its reopening under new management in mid-July 2023, The Duke of Greenwic has curated a menu that features locally sourced meat from Lyon’s Hill in Dorset and fresh fish from James Knight of Mayfair in Cornwall.

Taking its cues from the sun-soaked shores of the Mediterranean, highlights from the new summer menu includes: Grilled asparagus with pine nut and lemon gremolata; Fried BBQ cauliflower wings with chipotle sauce; BBQ lamb ribs with harissa and garlic yogurt; and Burnt leek with macadamia romesco.

Aside from the snacks and small plates, sharing dishes are also available – Smoked beer can chicken with house barbecue sauce; Grilled swordfish steak with tomato salsa; and Rump cap steak served with rocket and chimichurri. Desserts of Maze Hill mess (a rift on an Eton mess) and Peanut butter cheesecake with caramelised banana complete the menu.

Keen to embrace local businesses, The Duke of Greenwich has collaborated with several South London businesses – Brew by Numbers, Signal and Villages Brewery – and have a rotating selection of quality craft beers on tap.

Join The Duke of Greenwich this May Bank Holiday Weekend for Margaritas, summery small plates, and a fantastic showcase of local artistry.
