Can’t get away? Set sail for Southbank hotel Sea Containers instead, where it’s partnering with Champagne house Laurent-Perrier for the Sea Containers London X Laurent- Perrier Summer Terrace.

The terrace is a plant-filled oasis on the river Thames that brings to life the British hedgerow in the heart of the Southbank.

Guests are surrounded by an urban garden filled with British native woodland trees, ferns and shrubs – such as Field Maple and Hazel trees, Barrenwort and Coral Bells – whilst sipping on Laurent-Perrier champagne and taking in the terrace’s unrivalled views across to St Paul’s and the City of London.

Diners will be able to enjoy Laurent-Perrier’s Cuvée Rosé by the glass or bottle, as well as La Cuvée and a selection of cocktails, served alongside a menu of fresh seafood small plates and a new Sea Containers Restaurant summer menu.

Sustainably sourced and with hedgerow foraged herbs, the new small plates menu will include:

Fruits de Mer: chilled pink prawns, dressed crab, oysters & lovage mayo

Native or Rock oysters, mignonette, sea cress
Pan fried scallops, almond jus, roe, fennel shoots

Lobster, celeriac & toast with dandelion

Avocado and smoked haddock with celery & watercress

The urban garden has been created in consultation with Bankside Opens Spaces Trust – a local environmental charity that works to protect, preserve and enhance parks, gardens and other amenities in London’s SE1 and surrounding areas.
All materials and perennial plants for the project will be reused in future installation and donated to local community sites such as community parks and gardens, local residents’ groups and the local authority.

As part of the summer terrace collaboration, guests will also have the opportunity to gift a voluntary donation to conservation charity, Plantlife, who are restoring wildflower meadows across the UK and for which Champagne Laurent-Perrier is a Corporate Patron.

The Sea Containers London X Laurent-Perrier Summer Terrace is launching in conjunction with HEDGEROW by agua, a new skincare and product line made in- house at the hotel’s renowned spa, agua London. The new products will be made using locally and sustainably sourced British botanical ingredients using techniques drawn from herbalism and aromatherapy and delivered through the medium of massage.

Those looking to experience a HEDGEROW by agua treatment before or after their booking on the terrace can find out more via agua London at Sea Containers London.

The Sea Containers Restaurant x Laurent-Perrier Summer Terrace will be open through to September 2021.
