The only wine I have ever found to actually go with Indian food is Brown Brothers Dolcetto & Syrah, a fizzy red with sweetness.

Their innovation in wine is remarkable and it extends to the often unloved Rose end of the wine spectrum. Now just in time for the apparently scorching summer to be , comes Zibibbo Rose a sparkling pink.

Tasting notes talk of strawberry and melon and that is definitely true. It’s a refreshing little number for pre-drinks and at just 8% won’t have guests too bleary before the first course, a danger with champagne.

Made from the Muscat of Alexandria grape the new rose should win some converts to the Pink way of drinking.
