The latest hip term of the year is “credit crunch” and restaurants around London are finding many ways to help out diners being more careful with their pocket money until the economic crisis slows down. Bentley’s Grill wants you to enjoy their fine meals at reduced prices with a new menu in its upstairs rooms on the borders of Soho and Mayfair. A daily-changing set menu has been created for weekday lunches and pre and post-theatre, offering the classic Bentley’s experience at even better value.

A menu of the day might include Purple sprouting broccoli and brown shrimp butter or smoked salmon mousse, pickled cucumber & toasted sour dough. For a second course you might try Lancashire, hot pot & pickled red cabbage or fillet of hake, lentilles de Puy & black pudding. And for a delicious finale, try oyster stout rarebit or mulled wine jelly & ice cream. Two courses cost £18.50 or for £4 more, have dessert.

Set in a beautiful Victorian building, The Grill at Bentley’s is divided into several smaller rooms decorated with William Morris designs and wooden flooring-old-style elegance you can still afford.
