From 28th November Mango Tree, the award-winning Belgravia restaurant, will be celebrating the merry season with a festive Thai feast that gives traditional English Christmassy food a Thai twist in a special three course menu for only £39 a person.

The starters include Satay grilled marinated turkey with exotic Thai herbs served with peanut sauce; Plaa Salmon, chopped smoked salmon tossed with lemon grass, onion, lime leaf, mint leaf, fresh chilli, lime juice; and Thai chilli oil, and Spider Rolled, a Thai roll with rice, soft shell crab and cucumber. Half a grilled lobster with garlic butter is also available.

Main courses demonstrate exquisite Thai cooking with Turkey Massaman, a slow cooked medium spicy curry with turkey, potatoes and ground peanuts; Moo Korb, stir-fried aromatic crispy pork belly with sprout, garlic and oyster sauce; and Kai Phad Cha, very spicy chicken stir-fried with root ginger, lime leaf and fresh chilli. Accompaniments are Kuay Tiew, stir-fried rice noodle with spring onion, egg and soy sauce, and Kow Hom Ma Li, steamed Thai jasmine rice.

As is typical of eastern cuisines, there is plenty for vegetarians – an alternative vegetarian menu is also available.

Fruit salad and lychee sorbet, or mango crème brulee, are the puds on the menu.

We’ll be reviewing the festive menu during its launch week. It’s available until 30th December.

Book a table; parties welcome.
