Canteen the award-winning all-day British diner will open their third restaurant on Baker Street in the heart of London’s west end at the end of this month. The new restaurant is located in the old Marks and Spencer building, 55 Baker Street, with 120 internal covers offering booth seating, bistro tables, a bar area and a covered heated out-door seating area. In keeping with Canteen’s design philosophy the interior will celebrate British design and craftsmanship, influenced by mid 20th century modern interiors the space will be democratic, welcoming and considered.
Canteen’s serves high quality British cuisine at reasonable prices and gives customers ultimate flexibility with an all day menu offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and now delicious bar snacks including fish finger sandwich, scotch egg, Neal’s Yard ploughman’s and roast meat sandwich from the new Canteen bar snack menu.
The new beer list will feature 20 of the UK’s finest bottled beers, stouts, ales, ciders and perry’s, offering selected beers on tap along with a selection of hand-pumped seasonal ales and ciders sourced from microbreweries.
Canteen also celebrates traditional British baking by introducing a weekly changing cake and afternoon tea menu. Cake and biscuits, freshly baked in the Canteen kitchen, will include: Fairy cakes, Scones with clotted cream and homemade jam, Jam Doughnuts, Guinness Cake, Swiss Roll, Lemon Meringue Pie, Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Eclair, Dundee cake, Eccles cakes, Gingerbread, Banoffee pie and Billionaire Shortbread.
