Tesco has added over 50 new wines to its extensive range.
The new arrivals include bottles from critically-acclaimed wineries such as Bird in Hand and Planeta, as well as new to Tesco wines from big names such as Penfolds, Villa Maria, Louis Latour and Cloudy Bay, among others.
Whether it’s a special bubbly for celebrating, like the sophisticated Cloudy Bay Pelorus (£24), or a rich red that’s brilliant for BBQs, like Errazuriz Max Carmenère (£12), there’s something new for every budget, taste and occasion.
Some of the new wines landing in Tesco stores this month:
Planeta L’Amistanza, 12.5% abv, £10.00
Produced from indigenous Fiano and Grecanico grapes grown in the Sicilian hills, this fresh and fruity white evokes Italian holidays and long, lazy lunches. Made by the family-run and sustainably minded Planeta winery, it is exclusive to Tesco.
Bursting with ripe aromas and flavours of peach, melon and pineapple, it’s a beautiful match for spaghetti alle vongole or vegetable stir fry.
Bird in Hand Two in the Bush Chardonnay, 12.5% abv, £14.00
This refreshing Chardonnay is made from grapes grown in Australia’s Adelaide Hills region, by the critically acclaimed Bird in Hand winery. With classic stone fruit flavours of peach, nectarine and apricot, and a crisp and zesty profile, it’s exceptionally elegant and guaranteed to impress.
Tesco Finest Primitivo Terre di Chieti 14% abv, £7.00
Grown in the highest quality vineyards of the Abruzzo hills, overlooking the Adriatic coast, this inky Primitivo is made for Tesco by Codice Citra. Bold and complex, with juicy blackberry and ripe plum favours, savoury spices and a long rich finish, this intense red offers brilliant value for money. Delicious with cured meats and cheeses or rich pastas.
PepperBox Shiraz, 14% abv, £10.00
This classic Australian Shiraz is ideal for fans of big, bold reds. Full of spicy aromas and blackcurrant and cherry flavours, its intensity makes it a great match for rich dishes like aubergine parmigiana or grilled steak.
J Vineyards California Cuvée 12.5% abv, £23.00
This sparkling wine is made by premium Californian producers J Vineyards and offers something different for special occasions. It opens with bright aromas of tart pineapple and orange blossom, followed by rich notes of pear and honeysuckle. Enjoy it as an apéritif or with a warm goat’s cheese salad.
Mirabeau La Folie Sparkling Rosé 12% abv, £14.00
Elegant and refreshing, this sparkling rosé is perfect for enjoying in the summer sunshine (or reminding you of it). A taste of the south of France, it has lovely fresh apricot and passionfruit aromas, with flavours of peach and melon and a delicate fizz. Enjoy chilled on its own or alongside smoked salmon, salads or light and fruity desserts.
