Eat Natural are working with the Red Squirrel Survival Trust to try and stop the decline in Red Squirrels. Every pack of their new Eat Natural bars with peanuts, almonds and hazelnuts will help raise funds for the fight.

Novikov Restaurant & Bar, which is set to open in London this summer, has appointed chef Stefano Steccas to head up the kitchens of its Italian Room.

Positioned next to a Conran furniture design shop on Marylebone High Street, plenty of style has rubbed off on the Orrery. The venue holds regular wine tastings and will be hosting a range of events over the summer including a wine dinner and Bastille day menu. Orrery’s Summer Terrace is available for entertaining and can accommodate 20 seated or 80 guests for a standing reception.

There’s a new foodie website on the block called Looking to Cook (lookingtocook.co.uk). Launched in April 2011, the site offers independent reviews of the cookery schools and courses in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The London Restaurant Festival team recently set things in motion by putting tickets on sale for what promises to be perhaps the most exclusive pop up restaurant. Starting with drinks at the Savoy guests will be taken by boat to the London Eye where a capsule will have been transformed into a ten seat restaurant serving dishes from a glittering cast of Michelin starred chefs.

The preponderance of chains on the South Bank leaves many spoilt for no real choice. Feng Sushi’s innovative summertime only barbecue allows us to break free from the formulaic and, as Joanna Biddolph discovered, grab a quick bite and a cocktail, to fill a gap, on the way to a concert, film or play – or as an after-work snack. Not unlucky for Grand Union, the canal-biased burgeoning chain opened its twelfth venue on Friday 13th May in the heart of newly-regenerated Paddington Basin. The space, a stagger from Edgware Road tube station, is massive and was created from a retail unit as part of a £400,000 refit with a capacity of 400 people.
