Ealing favourite rolls ups sleeves for international children’s day with noodle-making classes for kids
TUK CHỢ, which offers South East Asian market food in the heart of Ealing, has created a weekend of fun and noodles for children over Jubilee weekend – which is also the weekend over which International Children’s Day is celebrated around the world. Each child’s ticket will cost £10 and £5 of this will be donated to TUK CHỢ’s preferred charity FRiENDS International, who work across Laos and Cambodia helping street children to escape poverty with employment skills and training.
Kettle Chips Thirty Year Anniversary
Kettle Chips celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, which Marcus finds rather bizarre, he thought they’d been around for much longer. If it only takes thirty years for the brand to climb to the top of the crisp ladder then what are the other companies playing at? Perhaps Kettle Chips have their own secret weapon? He travels north to find out…
Quick, it’s Slow Food UK week
There’s a very strong schedule of food events for this year’s Slow Food UK Week, with top chefs, including Richard Corrigan, Angela Hartnett, Giorgio Locatelli, Francesco Mazzei and Cyrus Todiwala making sure that there’s an event to attend each day of the week. You don’t have to be a Slow Food UK member in order to enjoy the packed schedule which has been created with many of the 53 Slow Food UK Chef Alliance members.

God Save the Queen, Pop!
Alan Kingsbury tries the new vintages of Nyetimber English sparkling wines and reckons that they are fit for royalty.

Jubilee Round up
Some pubs are doing tongue-in-cheek Jubilee nods and the big brands are releasing commemorative gifts that might become a family heirloom one day or have been creative with recipes for celebrating this big event. However you choose to mark the occasion, you’ll be sure to find some way to tip your hat for Lizzie’s big moment.
Carluccio’s Summer Picnic Hamper
For £45, the Carluccio’s Classic hamper combined with a crisp, chilled white wine and a sunny day, would make a picnic outing or lunch on the terrace an absolute delight. I think I may have been won over to the picnic lifestyle after all.
