SOCIeTY Bar and Restaurant, Blackfriars, London. Modern British restaurant and bar serving great food in modern comfortable surroundings
Opened recently SOCIeTY bar/restaurant has sharp contemporary decor, which they refer to it as ‘industrial elegance’. Although a little ‘off the beaten track’, it’s but a couple of minutes walk from Blackfriars station and City Thameslink. With great food and good atmosphere, this is absolutely a society that I’d be happy to drop into from time to time.
A Grelha, at the Gun serves up hearty food, freshly grilled, slap bang on the edge of the Thames.

Go while you can, because it won’t be there forever. Just don’t forget to take a jumper.
Mastering the Art of Indian Cooking Sanjeev Kapoor
In a world of glossy tomes pandering to chefs’egos, or a quick sale riding on the back of a TV series, Sanjeev Kapoor’s book is a solid piece of work that you’ll soon have covered in foodstains. There’s no higher recommendation than that.
Banrock Station wines for summer drinking
It seems that wines these days are getting stronger and some of you might be looking for lighter options for those summer afternoons.
