Belgo Lobster Festival
Belgo’s Lobster fest, now in it’s tenth year, promises a good deal, just the sort of thing we need in credit crunch times. 5,000 live lobsters have been pre-ordered by Executive Chef, Muir Picken from Nova Scotia’s finest lobster pots for the festival, which will run from 1st to 30th June inclusive, so there’s going to be a lot of scuttling in the kitchen.

On Thursday 28 May 2009 Moti Mahal will launch a new menu highlighting recipes of rural corners of India that has been inspired from the tales and experiences of Head Chef Anirudh Arora’s voyage across the ancient ‘Grand Trunk’ Road.
Galvin Brothers go larger still
Chris and Jeff Galvin today announce the forthcoming launch of their latest restaurant, based in the heart of the City. The restaurant, as yet unnamed, is based in the beautiful 19th century grade II listed St Botolph’s Hall in Spital Square, between Bishopsgate and Commercial Street. It will comprise three dining areas – a fine dining restaurant based in the main hall, a bar area in the old Curate’s House and an all day café with outdoor seating leading on to Spital Square.

FrancoTraruschio OBE the founder of the legendary Walnut Tree restaurant and exciting young executive chef James Sommerin of the Michelin starred Crown at Whitebrook and winner of the recent BBC 2 great British Menu Welsh heat, will be teaching hands-on cooking at the Chefs’Room, the new fish and cookery school in Blaenavon, South Wales.
