The London Restaurant Festival isn’t all fat cats revolving in the Eye. Jun Tanaka and Mark Jankel will be feeding the masses fine food from a converted Airstream trailer as they trundle around London. We went for a pre-tasting of their mobile munchies.

Redhook, Clerkenwell

I really wanted to like Redhook but there’s a balance between making customers feel like part of the crew and casting them out on such a long line that they feel lost and forgotten, bobbing around in a sea of other thirsty and hungry people. Put some welly into front of house and Redhook could be reeling them in.

McGuigan classic, The Semillon Blanc 2010

With many of us more conscious of our alcohol intake, at 11.5 percent by volume, the Semillon Blanc from McGuigan, the Australian wine producers, may be the wine you are looking for. McGuigan’s The Semillon Blanc is an excellent wine to drink as an aperitif, it feels great in the mouth and has a great freshness, but it does pair well with bolder fish dishes.
