Tucked away in the trendy riverside passages of Shad Thames lies ‘Bengal Clipper’ restaurant, which in its 15 years of trading, has been awarded more accolades than you could shake a stick at.
Bombay Brasserie’s Cookery Demonstrations – a great experience
Having reported on Bombay Brasserie’s forthcoming cookery demonstrations recently, we decided to go along and give them a try. This is a great way of spending a lunch with friends, or maybe as a work team building exercise, eating great food, whilst learning some Indian cookery techniques. At £40 per head we can see that this would be an affordable, opportunity for groups to learn, share and bond in an excellent atmosphere and a stylish location.

The title of this restaurant worried me. Not only does it have ‘Carry On’ connotations, it also sounds like the title of a hellish, low budget, box-ticking sitcom.
Bellevue Rendez-vous
Cooking at Bellevue is Pablo Gallego while his partner Stephanie Gandon runs the front of house. A nice woman, but at one point she let out a thunderous unrestrained sneeze, something I recommend she doesn’t do when the AA Rosette inspector comes round.
Snowflakes and Schnapps – Jane Lawson
What a great big beautiful book, a book to keep well away from the kitchen lest you stain its Nordic beauty. It looks a million dollars, or whatever they use as currency oop north, and has clearly had no expense spared in its production. It has the cool allure of freshly fallen snow and the textural quality of a reindeer’s coat. This is as much as status symbol as it is a cookbook.

Champion of British produce Oliver Peyton has newly appointed Executive Chef Simon Duff, to bring his wealth of experience to the National Gallery restaurants, The National Dining Rooms and the National Café.

Iced coffee without all the calories
Foodepedia runs on caffeine and discreet intravenous feeds of foie gras, but a hot coffee is no fun when the sun’s out. So a delivery of Emmi’s Caffe Latte Light Iced Coffee was just what the journos ordered.
